I am currently awaiting the arrival of:
GPU: MSI 2GB HD7790 - £98
CPU: FX6300 - £85
Ram: 8GB of ddr3 1600mHz - £45
HDD: 1TB western digital SATAIII £50
Mobo: MSI 970A-G43 - £55

(Total ~ £350)

I will be using my old case. Also I will be using my old 480w psu (Tagan TG480-U01) I believe it has sata power cables and a PCI-E power supply but is there any way I can make completely sure it will fit my motherboard etc?

My main question is, will there be any other bits and bats I need to buy before my stuff arrives? I believe the CPU comes with a stock cooler (may update at a later date)but I'm just dreading all the parts coming and not being able to complete assembly on the day. also I havent bought an optical drive, can i use a usb external Disk Drive to install the OS? lots of questions but im a noob and im afraid :') Thanks for your help in advance

Unless you have a mATX case then your mobo should fit perfectly.
The 6300 its a decent chip, but many complained that the stock cooler tends to get loud :) I would change that cooler :D (because the chip OCs very well and with a better cooler you can get more out of this chip)
Yes, the OS can be installed from a USB stick, just google "windows 7 USB download tool" install it and make a USB stick with W7.

Thanks for the reply, I've checked my current mobos form factor and it's an aTX so my case must also be atx right? :) also I have a disk with windows 8 on and im not sure I have a big enough USB stick for an OS as I dont move data around much. Can one install an OS with an external USB disk drive?
