My landlord had internet installed today in his shop 2 floors below, problem is I recieve no signal and neither do my other flat mates is there anything we can do to recieve asignal?

Yes, you need to talk to the landlord and see if he/she can have some repeaters installed. If you don't have their permission, though, don't take matter into your hands.
