Bought new 780, I have two PCI-E 6x2 cables, do those work for 780's two 8 pin?

Hi, I just bought an EVGA classified 780, upgrading from a 580. My 580 is one 8 pin and one 6 pin plug in, but from the PSU I have two 6x2. Do the 6x2's work for the two 8 pins the 780 has? The 780 comes with 2 adapters but I don't know if its bad to just leave the 2 part of the 6 pins hanging there when you use the adapters.

I know I'm just being paranoid, as I assume the 6x2 are meant to work on 8 pins, just need clarification. Thanks :) . It's a 2 year old 850 Cosair PSU btw.

Hey,

The Tx850 should have 6+2 PCI-E cables which means that they have a 6 pin part and a two pin part. If your GTX780 has two 8pin slots then connect two 6+2 pin cables. Yes you are fine using the 6+2 pin cables that come out of your power supply, 6+2 are meant to work as either a 6 pin or 8pin.

Hope this helps!
