My computer is built and is running the academic version of Windows 7.0 Pro 64-bit SP1, which looks fine. I am delighted by the progress made; however, I am not yet connected to the internet. I get a Code 28 (missing driver) error for ethernet controller, which is the way I am now connected to the Uverse 2Wire gateway. First of all, I am no longer absolutely sure that the Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2 motherboard has an ethernet controller and I can't seem to find a driver for it on the Asus website. What should I do next?

I've used Windows 7's own Backup and Restore.

You can create a system backup image through the Backup and Restore applet in Control Panel.

You can then boot with the Windows 7 installation CD/DVD and create the appropriate partitions on the SSD as if you were doing a normal installation. There will be a hidden reserved 100 MB System partition created leaving the remainder of the SSD for the OS and applications. You don't need to complete the installation of Windows 7, you just need these partitions created on the SSD.

Reboot with the Windows 7 installation CD/DVD and restore the system backup image from the hard disk drive to the SSD.

This forum is terrific thanks to people like ko888 and sheag123. I may ask the internet about my next question; but, I shall always ask Tom's Hardware first. I wonder, now that I have installed Windows 7.0 on my 2TB Seagate HDD along with the drivers and other applications from the CDs that came aalong with the many components of my build, what is the best way, if there is a way, to move the entire system over to the 250GB SanDisk SSD. My copy of Norton Ghost won't work on Win7 and Symantec has discontinued NG. I have tried twice and first Windows didn't like MBR and next time it didn't like GTD. Perhaps SanDisk doesn't like Windows. :) P.S. I mean without spending too much money or getting on a bad website.
