Ever since I´ve got my gaming PC in order, I´ve been wanting to play video games.
I´ve also bought a PS3.
Now I have something like 50 games on the PS3, 100 games on PC yet I can´t barely play a game anymore.
After 10 minutes into the game, I am losing all my interest I´ve previously had.
I keep throwing money into new hardware, wanting to play games yet when it comes to actually playing them, I have no desire of it.
Same happens with movies.
It takes me between 2 days to a whole week choosing what movie I to see.
I´m 23 and I was wondering if there´s something wrong with me..
Don´t get me wrong, I´ve finished 10 games or so this year yet it feels that games, movies and everything related to modern entertainment is so boring and repetitive....

So, what should I do then?
I like everything related to mystery(games, movies) yet I don´t really know much titles.
I would also like to mention that I´m a graphics whore.
What titles can you guys mention that are graphically immersive yet they have a story of mystery? (Something like The Witcher 2, KOAR, Infamous 2, etc).
Thanks.

I feel the same way and basically the only game I play now if bf4 and even then I cant play games as long as I used to either from being on a computer all day at work or just simply getting bored. customizing my computer is another story I find that fun haha

I don't think anything is wrong with you, hobbies, interests, and passions change over time and maybe you're just not in the mood for this kind of stuff at the moment, I try to keep several vastly different passions going at any moment so that I can keep myself refreshed.

For games I usually play things like Mirror's Edge, something with a lot of pace changes to keep myself interested

Check out the free to play scene and get friends playing with you. I would strongly suggest games like League of Legends or DOTA; they've got great replay value.

Seriously though, Free to play is most of what is on my computer at the moment and it's kind of sad because it's a $1600 rig with 2 SSDs, playing stuff like Blacklight Retribution.

Try some retro stuff as well, and emulators like Dolphin give you access to some excellent games as well.

I would see if you're interested in playing Walking Dead (Telltale) since they have the 2nd Season for the game coming out soon. Games like The Last Of Us, Beyond Two Souls, or other games that have you make a strong connection with the characters might interest you. Have fun

I love customizing my PC.
Maybe I´ve just got a wrong idea so far.
I´ve also thought that PC modding goes by the hand with love for video games.
Maybe I´m wrong...
Heck , sometimes I want to play every single game there is out there and you know what happens in the end?
I think you do: I end up quitting my search for the perfect game to play as I debate in my head the pros and cons and in the end I get to the conclusion that the game sucks.
And that´s when I own 150 games and I can´t play even a single one.
Because I´m too picky I guess...

That´s a great choice of games!
I´ve actually finished BTS and TLOU and I´ve tried, I´ve really tried to play The Walking Dead but it fails to make me wanting to play it.
As I said, graphics whore plus mystery= brings the games you mentioned.
Poor graphics in TWD made me change my mind about playing it.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

You´re right.
I´ve change recently from games to movies but I´m the same sad guy now...
Takes me a week to see a movie, I get really picky when it comes to do things.
It´s like... I´m afraid of wasting my life on things that aren´t probably worth the while...
I´m a strange fellow...

Haha, don't worry about it man, for each person there really is nothing more worthwhile than happiness, so nothing you do can really be counted as wasteful, it's all perspective and subjective!

What genre of games do you usually play? Switching it up might give you a new experience, I'm not too sure on the mystery parts, but give Bastion a try, it's immersive, has some strong narrative, and gameplay is simple and fun. Graphics won't blow your mind though, it's a top down isometric action RPG after all, does really well for an indie game though.

I think we all understand to some extent. Hyped films/games/entertainment in general, that deliver much less than we are led to believe. This is far from uncommon and you are far from alone.
I've been around quite a bit longer than yourself and have seen more and more formula driven products......things that end up being very derivative. I particularly don't like the way the single player story (if even present) is being severely degraded by some (not all!) developers.

Of course, I think we all have to learn that entertainment is very subjective; we all take away different things. A good idea is to go in with a more open mind - while reviews generally point us in the right direction, don't always expect the same conclusion.

I generally like strategy games, things that make your brain work a little harder, things that involve solving puzzles. You might find some entertainment 'closure' here.

Me too. I hardly game nowadays although I've just gotten a new gaming lap top. No matter what game I play I will not play it for long unless I am asked by my friends to go to the cyber cafe then is totally different feeling.

Movies? Well.. I love watching movies but because I am working, hardly I'll get the time to watch movies. :(
