How good is this PC build compared to PS4/Xbox One?

Hello,

I'm not very good with hardware as I've never really researched it so I can't really compare these specs to ones on the next-gen consoles.

The PC Build:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six Core CPU (3.50GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3+)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
RAM: 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
GPU: 2GB AMD RADEON™ R9 270X
PSU: CORSAIR 550W VS SERIES™ VS-550
Cooling: Corsair H40 Hydro Series High Performance
500GB HDD + External HDD's

The next gen consoles are quite limited in terms of hardware - good for (some) games, but not as versatile. Problem arises when games are only released (at least initially) for consoles. If you are patient, your rig will be fine - though if you have not got all the parts yet, get a Corsair GS600 instead of the VS 550

You've basically got urself a ps4 but with better CPU but less cores and better gpu
