Hello,

I'm not very good with hardware as I've never really researched it so I can't really compare these specs to ones on the next-gen consoles.

The PC Build:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six Core CPU (3.50GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3+)
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X
RAM: 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
GPU: 2GB AMD RADEON™ R9 270X
PSU: CORSAIR 550W VS SERIES™ VS-550
Cooling: Corsair H40 Hydro Series High Performance
500GB HDD + External HDD's

Thanks!

Thanks, I was just wondering as I'm building a PC quite soon and wanted to see if those parts were good.

I may upgrade the RAM to 16GB and possibly GPU to the AMD Radeon R9 280X or R9 290X.

that would require a huge jump in budget, set a budget and get what you can for it.

I know it's a huge jump but I have enough money, it's just dependant on whether or not I want to spend that money all on the PC itself.

+1 for sticking with air. The lower end water coolers aren't worth it and most air coolers are actually better.

The Hyper 212 EVO is a very good budget cooler. I recently built an FX 6300 system and OCd the CPU up to 4.4GHz on near stock voltage and the Hyper 212 EVO kept it under 55c at full load.

For water, start with the H80i or better.
