As my title states, I am trying to build my own desktop computer. I was just wondering if these parts will work well together and / or if I might need anything else? (besides the obvious hardware like speakers, mouse, keyboard, and screen)

Parts I'm looking at:

-Case-
Rosewill THRONE Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case, support up to E-ATX/XL-ATX, come with Five Fans

-Motherboard-
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX AMD Motherboard

-Processor-
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX

-RAM-
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11D-8GBSR

-SSD-
SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

-Hard Drive-
Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

-Video Card-
GIGABYTE GV-R928XOC-3GD Radeon R9 280X 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

-Power Supply-
CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

-Disc Drive-
ASUS Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM

I found these parts on NewEgg, in case you were wanting to look them up.

Any and all feedback would be great!

Thanks

Looks good, but you can get by easily with a 750W PSU and it doesn't need to be modular (modular cost more) since you have such a big case. Looks like your Senior Project should be called the gaming computer build though. :D

Watch for BF/CM sales, especially on SSD PSU memory and maybe even video card to save a few $$.

Thanks for the feedback so quickly. :D

I am definitely looking at the sales and possible discounts, but I will look into that 750W Power Supply. Can't hurt to stretch a dollar. ;)
