Hi, I was on youtube looking for a free minecraft account and I got that virus lots of people seem to be getting from all the websites saying that I needed to take a survey to see if Im human. And after a while it stopped popping up and nothing but a dead link came up.

If anyone can tell me how to fix it, it'd really be helpful. thanks

You have scanned with the antivirus and Malwarebytes? did you find something?... Have you restored the System to a date before the problem started? Disabled System Restore before scanning with the Antivirus? Did you use Malwarebytes in Full Scann?.. Try scanning with different Malware programs... Giant Antispyware, Spyware Terminator, HijackThis.

And if you're willing to format the drive, you won't mind disabling System Restore before scanning again. This is because viruses can save copies of themselves in the System Restore folder, this folder has such limited access that you have to modify the security to access it with the Administrator or any administrative account... this may prevent the antivirus from scanning within the SR...
What web browser & edition are you using? you may need to enable the browser pop-up blocker or toughen up the security settings.. the antivirus should also block any malicious garbage popping up in websites which can't infect your computer as long as you don't click on them. So, as long as you don't take the survey, nothing can go wrong... also try installing a flash blocker in your web browser.. that's if you can find one for it... Or install a pop-up blocking program.

If you think your computer has been infected, use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove whatever bug got in.

How did you try to format the drive? I'd like to know how you tried because formatting from the installation disk shouldn't be a problem.
