Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
8G Ram
two 7950 Crossfire

I am currently running BF4 at ultra 2X Mass my average FPS is around 60-100 and the lowest when there are a lot of action going it might go to 45 but still I say very smooth and playable.

I am building another PC for a friend for the sole purpose of BF4 and I am going to use the same: CPU and mobo

what is the best GPU I can get as if money is no object. I was thinking about he R9-290

Thank you

R9 290x is 'supposedly' the best one, as it also use mantle and is the BF4 edition. Whether it actually IS the best one is yet to be seen.

Why not just use the same set up you have?
The frame rates and performance you have is more then adequate for this game! Plus, you might be able to get a pair cheaper than a top of the line single!

get an r9 290 after the non reference coolers come out. make sure to get him a good psu so he can even crossfire it later. mantle should give a good boost to him when it comes out. Also they now come with battlefield 4 so its a win win.

never upgrade a computer for one game. it's not worth it, especially because of the recent issues with bf4 crashes and things, EA are a greedy company and you shouldn't be splashing cash so you can play a single game.
