I have an ASUS 7850 and I was wondering if the newest drivers available are any different depending on if you get them through the asus site or directly from AMD.
I would get them from ASUS as they may have 'tweaks' (eg fan control) for their specific cards that AMD generic may not have, but generally they are the same, and usually AMD are newer (which note, is not always better).
It is better to get them from AMD unless it is a laptop then you should get them from the hardware manufacture. But in the case of a HD 7850 get them from AMD always.
Get them from AMD, the extra software can be downloaded from the manufactures site if you would ever want them.
thx everyone...
Heya Mace - what do you think of your fx-8320?
I was debating getting that for my TV entertainment + backup gaming computer. Currently I have a phenom x4 965, but I want to update it. I need to update the terrible MB I have in it, and I figure I might as well get a new cpu. I was going to go Intel, but Ive nvr been able to justify the performance/cost ratio. Its not like im professional gamer or need a hardcore data crunching cpu.
Did you ever think you should have gone for the 8350 vs 8320?
If I ever think to myself that I should have gone with the 8350 I'll just bump up the multiplier to match it, the only difference between the two is the clock speed but where it is now it doesn't come close to bottlenecking my 770. Depending on what kind of card you have a 965 is usually enough even without an OC. My buddies handled his 660ti pretty well at stock.
The FX 83xx's give the intel i5s a good run and I got my cpu for $135 brand new with shipping off amazon. My same friend has an i7 and a 780 now and our systems usually perform pretty close to each other.

The 8320 is a good processor if you want to save money as if you OC it they can compare on-par to the 8350 ^^
