disable damaged internal keyboard for HP Pavilion dv5-2045dx

Looking for advice on how to disable a damaged internal keyboard on a HP Pavilion dv5-2045 dx.
I tried to uninstall through the device manager and when rebooted windows reinstalls it. At times the =/+ key enters itself at rapid fire speed, I am using an external hp keyboard, this is happening on a regular basis which is irritating as the devil!! I also attempted to install an improper driver as one article suggested and it would only continue to install the correct one.
Not very techno savvy, so would anyone have a simple solution to this problem?

  1. Hi, just disconnect the ribbon for the keyboard from the motherboard.

How do I go about doing that?

Here is a video about changing the keyboard, but you just need to disconnect the ribbon. If you can't do that, that involve removing some screws, you can go to a qualified repair store to do that.
