I am planning on constructing a custom desktop over the holidays, and will be ordering the parts on and around Black Friday. (for those of you who don't know, black Friday is an American "holiday" were stuff goes on crazy sales.) However, I was able to buy the power supply and motherboard off a friend for a crazy low price. That leaves me with a substantial gap in my budget, and I am trying to decide were the spare cash should go. So after considering my options, I decided I would at least take a look at OCing my pc. Here Is my build-

So, Should I put that spare cash into overclocking? I have NO experience, and have no idea how to do it, so if OCing is the right way to go It would be great if I could get a link to a tutorial. All help is appreciated, and all ideas are taken into consideration :D

well, the only OCing you can do with your cpu is changing the straps as your multiplier is locked and it is a B series chipset, with the GPU just use something like MSI afterburner or EVGA precisionX. But check you fps, and if you need it there are plenty of guides on the web

The question is, should I use my spare cash to upgrade from the 3550 to the 3570k and use what remains after that as some sort of cooler. If not, where should that spare 35$ go?

you could get the 3570k and get a hyper 212 plus or evo. or you could try getting a r9 280x or gtx 770 for like 320
