I built a gaming rig in late 2011 and installed a SAPPHIRE 100311-2SR Radeon HD 6970.

I'm thinking I'd like to add a second card. I've never operated with a second card and don't know much about doing it correctly.

It would be easy enough to buy a second SAPPHIRE 100311-2SR Radeon HD 6970 and stick it on the board. The problem is the card is out of stock of newegg.

What should I do? Does the card have to be a perfect match? If yes, anywhere I can find another identical card? If no, what partner card do you folks recommend?

Try www.tigerdirect.com for your card also you need a crossfire bridge and your pc must support crossifire and or sli also be sure your power supply is enough to handle both cards but if it where me I would go with a newer faster card.

You may be able to find one aT AMAZON or ebay..

But for the cost of these used card you could get a nicer more up to date r card or 7950.
