Upgrading Prebuilt GPU, PSU, and RAM (Dell XPS 8300)

Looking to upgrade my Dell XPS 8300 with a new GPU, Power Supply, and (possibly) RAM

Question about RAM: Would it be worth upgrading the ram from my existing 6gb/ would i notice the difference when gaming?

-Follow up on RAM: Took a look into my case and noticed that all 4 ram slots have sticks in them and are numbered: 3 1 4 2
I was under the impression that i have 2x3 gb ram so i am a bit confused since i expected to see 2 vacant slots. (maybe 2x2gb and 2x1gb?) Also slot 3 and 4 have black tabs to release the sticks and slots 1 and 2 have white tabs (not sure if that means anything)

Question about Installing: Is it typically better to install one part at a time or can i throw them all in my case all at once (first time installing PSU and RAM upgrade)?

Approximate Purchase Date: Next 2 Weeks
Budget Range: $400-$600
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, movies, surfing net
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: Power supply (Modular), GPU, add or replace ram
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg/amazon or any reliable
Location: Sacramento, California, USA
Parts Preferences: PSU- Seasonic or most reliable within budget
GPU- Leaning towards NVIDIA but currently have AMD and have had no problems
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No

Additional Comments: Looking to spend around $250 on GPU and what i need on the rest to get reliable/ compatible hardware

Currently have a Radeon HD 6850 which is a snug fit, need a card with around the same dimensions (have a little more room, around 9.5-10 inches)

Why Are You Upgrading: No major problems with current build, just want to get a bit more out of newer games (Bioshock Infinite and more) graphically.

Current system specs

- Intel Core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00 GHz
- 6.0 GB DDR3 RAM
- 1 TB Hard drive
- Radeon HD 6850 GPU 1GB
- 460 W PSU

Currently Interested in:
GeForce GTX 760 (from October Best Bang for $)

Power Supply- Dont know much about what is good/not good. I believe that the dimensions are about right (roughly measured 6.2" x 5.5" x 3.4" while in case), not sure if its powerful enough or if it has the connectors i need (looking to you experts here)

Want to make sure that the the hardware i get is compatible and any recommendations/ knowledge would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post and thanks!

Solution
Yes I think you could flatten them out as long as it dont mess up the cosmetics of the outside of the case I belive dell put them in there to make sure the power supply was snug 1 then number 2 for people not knowing better if they had a failure they would be forced to buy a dell branded power supply. as for the gpu the card is 9.5 inches long measure the amount of space you have in the case to make sure it may fit hope this help any ???? just ask.
Thats a great power supply ansd will work well with the rest of your computer . It has two pci-e power connectors that your graphics card needs so you are good to go.

I would buy almost any other GTX 760 , and not that EVGA . It uses the reference cooler which is not quiet and doesnt cool brilliantly . Its only advantage is that it blows air out of the case .
So if you case has a couple of 120 mm fans you are going to be better off with a model like the Gigabyte with three axial fans , or the ASUS [and lots of others] with two axial fans

Thanks, wasn't paying attention to the fans until you brought it up. Can't fit the gigabyte 760 in my case, how about this one?

Just checked the case and it does have those tabs but they look like they could be pushed back. Not sure why they were put there in the first place... I will try to play with it a bit and see what i can do about the tabs. Thanks! Also it looks like the non-modular seasonic power supply has the same dimensions as mine now

would it be a safer bet for me to grab that one instead and just deal with the wire clutter (cant see inside the case, just wanted modular for a few years down the line when i build a pc for myself)?
