Ok so right now my build is like this:

Gpu: Sapphire 7870 Ghz edition
Cpu: Intel Core i3-2120
ram: 4gb Kingston HyperX Black
Mobo: ECS 1155.H61H2-MV(1.0) Motherboard - MicroATX, LGA1155
Psu: Some 550 w bronze

And I play Bf4 on it with about 36-40 ish fps on ultra, but i want to get more from my pc and since the PS4 has dissapointed me i am looking to spend about $850. So what do I do next with the rig I have? and keep in mind i need a new 1080p monitor as I have a 1050 one.How would I achieve the best performance? Would i have to get a new gpu or just run crossfire? New cpu?

gtx780 $500
another 4gb ram $30
1080p IPS-LED $150
i3 should be fine, but since you have $170 left, i5 3350p (the one tom's hardware recommends)
Also, you can sell your 7870 so total will be less than $850.

-XFX 550w psu: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9 ($56).
-i5-3470: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80637i53470 ($180).
-Another 4gb of your same ram kit (~$35).
-IPS 1080p monitor: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-vs239hp ($152).
-R9-280X: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr928xoc3gd ($300).

Totals to around $720. You have enough room to upgrade a case if you want a better one or a SSD for faster loading and booting times.
ECS motherboards aren't the best, but you don't have the money to upgrade the motherboard since you'll need a new OS as well.
