Could this be bad RAM?

I have a Lenovo T60 which often freezes up, while running winXP or Utuntu, requiring a full reboot. I ran a memory test bootable liveCD but it said all memory was good, which surprised me. Do RAM tests sometimes not pick up RAM problems?

What else besides bad RAM might be causing it to lockup?

Solution
Ram Tests usually do catch problems but in order to do so, long runs (12-24 hr) are what is needed.
My four primary suspects here are, 1) Driver conflict or corruption, 2) Overheating, 3) HDD starting to fail or 4) Wonky voltages coming from your power distribution. Rarely, that may be caused by a USB device failing.
With a laptop, especially an older one, my primary suspect becomes heat. You can download CoreTemp to check your temps as a first course of action
You can check your HDD's health with SeaTools
