When I turn on my PC, sometimes a strange and not very loudly (but roughly) humming appears. It stars slowly the first 2-3 seconds, then it accelerates and sounds like a spinning head or something on engine which spins faster and faster every secons. In the end, the sound dissapears, after a total of 20 seconds.Any idea what the problem might be?The only idea that comes through my head is the hard drive, but I am not sure.I would appreciate if you can help me.Thank you.

I suspect its your processor fan. Some boards boot this way. But when they turn on they go full speed, wait a few seconds to check temps then slow down. If its a CD/DVD drive just take all discs out and it won't make the noise.

And never trust anyone who lists their 3350p as running at 3.7 ghz, that is only its speed with 2 cores... j/k I have mine set the same way.

Ah yeah that could be it. I forgot some boards do that.

And yeah, 3.7 just makes me feel lots better than saying a meager 3.5 :) Its an epeen thing.

@OP: The easiest way to check would be to unplug the things you think are causing it. (When its off of course) Excluding the CPU fan, thats not really a good idea without a beefy cooler.
