how to browse files on a LAN

Hello.........
All I want to know is how can I browse files on my Desktop from my notebook...............They both are connected on the same wireless network.(My Wireless Router)

Usually place files in the public folder \\Ritaban\Users\Public

Or share a folder or drive, right click share, it cant be a short cut.
