is a 450 PSU enough?

Solution
For a system using a single Radeon HD 5770 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 450 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 24 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt...

Yes a quality 450W powersupply will be sufficient. A bargain basment one will not be. Anything rated 80+silver or gold will be good enough, and a name brand (seasonic, corsair, even rosewill 80 bronze would be fine). Just don't go for the elcheapo

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Thermaltake Pure Power 450W (W0329) is only 355 Watts continuous power and 450 Watts peak power. This is the typical liar label crap that Thermaltake uses with their low end PSUs to deceive its customers. More realistically that PSU can only deliver a maximum of 325 Watts without going out of ATX12V specs.

The Amperages shown on the label are not continuous ratings, they're peak ratings.
