Hi,

My PC shuts down during a game play at 1080p resolution. I bought the PC primarily for playing high end games such as Battlefield 3 or higher versions, FSX and GTA IV.. etc. But whenever i start the game at the higher resolution, PC shuts down within 15-20 mins

Here are my Specs:
Motherboard: MSI 890GMX G65
CPU; AMD Phenom 2 X4 955
RAM: kingston 8GB DDR2
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6850
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850 Watts
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Any suggestions or solution can you please provide? Or if i do have to change the configuration what do you suggest?

Solution
The two most likely possibilities are overheating and problem with the power supply.

For overheating:
Download HWMonitor and check the temperatures while playing games, you should be worried if the temperatures go over 65 degrees Celsius

For power supply:
You can try testing to see if the power supply is faulty with a multimeter.
If it isn't faulty, it could be not enough power, in which case, you would need to get a better power supply.

I would test overheating first, then faulty power supply. If both of those check out, then I would consider trying new PSUs.
