my Kingston SD card reader says that write protected
i have tried unlocking it by the side but it does not work
please help.

Not A professional answer by any means, but I've had the same problem while messing with a raspberry pi. You can USUALLY get around this by covering the little indent on one of the sides with some electrical tape. I think the notch is on the opposite side of the switch. Don't ask me how it works, but it does. I've done it plenty of times. However, you do run the risk of getting your card stuck in the reader. I've searched for a while, but this is the only solution I've found
