Hello, around a week ago me and my brother both ordered the exact same custom built gaming tower from Vibox, been using the PC's for a week and had no problems up too now.. Both mine and my brothers PC internet randomly slowed down yesterday for no apparent reason and sometimes wont even load the page at all it just times out, this only happens with both of the PC's and every other laptop and so on is working fine, is there anything I can do too fix this?

PS: We are both windows 7 ultimate 64bit and have tried a fresh install on both and still slow internet speeds, we also both get excellent 5 bar connection when we are connected but it sometimes pops up saying "no internet connection" for a few seconds

We both use a wireless adapter of different manufacturers, when we try to use the internet it says we are connected with 5 bars. we have also tried different internet browsers and tried removing all antivirus software.. No other console/laptop etc has any problem with internet speeds and I have done a speedtest and everything is normal so there is no problem with the router.. also all the drivers are up to date and both pc's have no other issues apart from internet problems everything is running smoothly.

Having worked in tech support before, you're right about the router not being the problem: even though you have 2 different wireless adapters from 2 different vendors, the fact that only these 2 rigs are affected means the problem isn't on the router.

So, first question: when you say "slow Internet", I'm assuming you mean "slow response when loading pages in a browser/high ping in a game", since you said your speedtests are coming back "normal". If so, is there any sort of pattern to it: specific games/browsers, specific websites/game servers, specific times of day, etc.? And when you say the speedtest is "normal", where are you testing it at, & how do the results compare to the service you're paying for?

Second, have you tried bypassing the wireless connections & hardwiring directly into your router? If you only have issues with the wireless connections, then that points to a wireless issue, either the 3rd-party software or the adapter itself. Note that, even if the instructions say to install "their" software, Windows 7 by default can detect your wireless adapter & use the default network connection software to set up the wireless connection. Testing the adapter may mean taking it to a 3rd-party's PC & trying it out there.

If you have issues even with the wired connection, then there's something going on with the PCs themselves. Again, could be the 3rd-party wireless software, or it could be another software issue: firewall settings, browser settings, even router settings.

Unfortunately, tracking down issues with an intermittent connectivity issue can take quite some time. As I said, I used to work in tech support, & sometimes it could take 30 minutes or more on the phone to finally get to a "Refer to Vendor" situation. However, whether it's software- or hardware-related, the problem is almost 100% certain to be on the PCs themselves if they're the only ones affected.

When I say slow internet I mean its connected fine but when I open google chrome it sometimes loads pages fine for around 10seconds then just either takes 1-2mins to load anything, sometimes as soon as I try to use the internet it just takes forever to load a page and other times it just doesn't load at all. I've done multiple speed tests on the PC's that's having issues and another laptop that's running fine, I normally get 5-8mbps - on the PC's that's having issues the download speed fluctuates from around 5 then to as low as 0.5mbps witch too me looks like something is draining it, (Only managed to do a speedtest today on the faulty PC's due to it wouldn't load the other times.) These problems happen all day there is no time of the day when the internet is any faster on the PC's.

No I have not yet tried wiring the PC's directly up too the router due to not having time, I will try that now.
also I did not install the software that came with the wireless adapters, I just used the windows 7 automatic driver detection, I do not think this will be the issue due too it working fine for the first week of owning the PC's.

Remember I re-installed windows on both PC's so the firewall and browser settings will be default, the default settings worked when I first got the PC's with no problems, also the router settings have not been touched in months and have never had any problems with this before until now.

Thanks.
