Seeking a new SSD for game storage

I currently have a 256GB Vertex 4 for my main OS and a 128GB Vertex 4 for my game storage. These drives have been great for a while, but now my games drive has gotten more than 50% full, and I'm starting to see performance issues. My transfer rate on about half my game data has dropped to about half. It's not a major thing, but I'd still like to improve performance. If I transfer everything off the drive to my storage drive, use the OCZ toolbox to wipe the drive, then copy it back, I get the old performance back, until the next patch.

So, I'd like to know what the current best 256GB drive would be for non-OS use. It won't be seeing too many writes, mostly reads, and won't see consistent activity. Samsung 840 Pro? OCZ Vector? Something else?

How about performance on the Samsugn 840 EVO? I hear it is pretty good on reads, but less so on writes, but still better than a Vertex 4. Is it a worthwhile option? How about a raided pair, is that worth considering?

sorry for not getting back to you earlier. writes don't really matter in a desktop setting. and raid 0 with sdd's unless you have lots of large files won't show a noticeable improvement and you will lose trim support. performance on the 840 evo is stellar.
