I recently bought a second hand 1 TB WD Green HD from a forum. I requested the seller to not format it but send it as is, which was filled with movies.
The day I received it, I realized that it had some minor problems.
Those Were:
American Megatrends boot whatever showed that the Hard Disk "Bad, Backup and Replace"
The "Starting Windows (7)" took almost 5-7 minutes to start. Default 5-10 sec.
The welcome Screen took around 45 sec (5-10 default)
And now the overall PC response was slow.
I Checked in HD tune pro for errors and the HD was in pretty bad shape.
Now here the problem (my dumbness) starts.
I read online that a Low Level formatting would clear the bad sectors and the HD would be like new. So I went froward with HDAT2 software in the boot mode and tried to first "read and correct errors". It was taking so long that I aborted it and went forward with the "Wipe Disk". Now never had I imagined that it too will take so long. Like 20 Mbs (out of 1000GB) in 25 Minutes. I thought there might be a better way than this slow arse wipe so I aborted that too and Booted again using the disk to do more research on net.
NOW, I saw that, even though my HD was being detected by both HD sentinel and HD Tune. It was not showing on my "Computer". I mean I don't know what I expected but I at least wished to see an empty drive icon. But there is nothing.
Now I have few serious questions.
1. Is the HD still under warranty?
2. Can It be repaired in any way?
3. The seller was ready to take the HD back for full when i told him about the bad sectors, but now that I've f**ked it up, do you reckon he will agree considering after what I've done? Or maybe if I don't tell him and simply ask him for a 80-90% refund and tell him to get it RMAed and sell it to me again?
Please Help a poor person here guys. The seller wont accept it if I delay.

Best solution
1. That model has a warranty from 30 days for an OEM model to a 2 year warranty for some of the older retail box models. you'd have to check your own proof of purchase and the documentation that you got with the drive. Check here: http://support.wdc.com/warranty/index_end.asp?lang=en
2. This is not repairable. It probably lost the partition information and is sitting in the drive management panel with no partitions. You could recreate the partitions, but there's really no point considering the bad sectors. This is truly blanked out, which is a good thing. It means your data is no longer easily retrievable. You didn't do anything wrong here. (Although, allowing it to finish the disk wipe, which might take upwards of two hours, might have been better.) You didn't mess up the drive at all. the bad sectors did.
3. Swap it with the reseller right away. He won't turn it away because of no partition information. You could probably get it swapped straight across for another of the same drive with no argument.

I checked it. The warranty is available till 2015. Much thanks dgingeri.
But can you come again on how can I create partition? I just want it to show on the computer. Blank or not, bad sectors or not, doesn't matter. Can you tell me step by step instruction on how to do it?
Can I like start the Windows 7 setup, format the 1 TB drive and simply cancel the setup? Will it solve the problem?
The Disk wipe on my calculations would have take days.

I checked it in Disk Management, I shows 931.51 GB Unallocated with the disk being not initialized. If I right click and Initialize disk, it says:
Use the following partition style for the selected drive
MBR (Master Boot record)
GPT (GUID partition Table)
Can anyone explain me how should I proceed?
Edit - Ok I understand that MBR is the correct method. What happens when I do it?
