Could I change this graphics card?

I bought the iMedia s2185 today, however, the graphics card has no casing on it and is fairly small. (Nvidia GeForce GT620) If I was to update this, and bought the 7770 and took the casing off around that GPU, would it still work? Thanks!

I mean the plastic bit, the GT620 has the fan built onto the motherboard for the GPU, but I was thinking of the plastic bit around the actual GPU. Because the case is a Mini-ATX case, its quite compact inside to fit a normal 7770.

The shroud is usually there to direct airflow, which is important, but as long as there is a fan blowing air directly onto the heatsink of your GPU, you should be ok. Can you link the particular 7770 you are talking about so I can see a picture of the cooler on it? I just want to be certain of what you are talking about before I say for sure.

The problem with taking off the plastic part is that it holds the fan onto the heatsink, and you need that fan blowing directly onto that heatsink to keep the chip on that card cool... So I would say that it is not recommended. I would try a different model of some kind, because I believe you will end up just overheating that card :-/ see if hang-the-9's suggestion would fit, or get a different case.
