Been considering whether I need to upgrade the RAM in my computer or not, or whether I'm OK for the time being.
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
RAM: Corsiar XMS3, DDR3-1333, 8GB (2x4GB)
Processor: Phenom II 970 BE
Total Slots: 4
OS: Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
Hard Drives: WD Blue (1 TB) primary, WD Green (1 TB) secondary
I know that the mobo can take up to DDR3-2000, but anything above DDR3-1600 won't really be that fast (manual says it's limited to DDR3-1600 unless I get an FX processor).
About the only stressful software I run are games. Currently, I have Halo: CE, Halo 2, AoE III, SWAT 4, & Starcraft II (with Zerg expansion) as my primary games; I also have Quake I-IV, AoE I & II, Starcraft: Brood War, Diablo, Diablo II & a few older games that aren't currently installed. I'm considering some newer games, though (Diablo III, maybe Call of Duty: MW2 or Battlefield 3/4), but not sure if I would need more RAM or a different upgrade path.
