I currently have a FX-6100 with my Radeon 7950 OC, and my CPU is lagging my GPU. I'd like to get a better CPU to up my FPS. My real question is, i know my MB, the MSI 970A-G46 is a notorioously bad MB for a 125w CPU. I really want a FX-8350, with a MB Bios upgrade I can run it, so is it worth the try to get the CPU with my existing MB or should i not risk it? Assuming a FX-6300 vishera is not worth an upgrade? So do i need a new MB, or should just OC my FX-6100 until i can afford a new MB.

Need some advice! Thanks!

Yeah just try to deal with it for now.

If you end up going for a Vishera on that motherboard you are likely to end up with it downclocking and getting less performance.

Save up for something like an M5A97, it's a good motherboard, and not too expensive. You'll be able to handle an 8350 with that no problem. I'm not sure you can hit 4ghz with that motherboard, but you can try, if you don't get errors it worked.
