AMD is gonna release the r9 290xx soon, its a card with 2 r9 290x but i wanna crossfire it so it'll be 2 r9 290xx which is equal to 4 r9 290xs. I don't really mind the noise since my current computer is a little loud already and i don't mind the heat, my landlord barely gives heat during the winter anyway. Would 1000 watts be enough for 2 r9 290xx?

Solution
Based on the following power consumption chart a single R9 290x uses 271w - 282w at peak power when playing games. Max power consumption is 309w - 315w when running the FurMark benchmark.

Based on that I would say the answer is no. Four R9 290x GPUs can potentially consume 1,084w - 1,128w. The CPU and other components also needs power as well. Plus I generally do not recommend putting more than a about a 85% load on the PSU. That means if the PC consumes 1,400w of power under load, then I recommend at least a 1,650w PSU.
