Should I buy my computer parts seperately or all at once for my first build?

So I'm going to build a PC sometime in the near future for gaming and eventually, for university engineering. It's going to be my first time building one. I already have a configuration, and was wondering if it would be wise to buy them all at once and build my system, or should I wait until there are sales and buy them seperately?

Well unless you are on a very tight budget buy them all at once... problem is if it takes you more than 30 days most things can't be returned to wherever you bought them. You're left shipping to the manufacturer (at your own cost) and waiting for them to try and fix it, and send it back a month later. If I were going to buy one all at once and didn't need it today... I would wait till the friday (aka black friday) after thanksgiving, or the monday after that (aka cybermonday)
