Which graphics card would be best for an i3 3220? I will be playing BF4 and I want to know if I really have to upgrade my CPU. Would graphics cards like 7950 get bottle necked by my CPU and if so, how much by? Would it be better to get a 7870 instead? I just wanted to know as if it is absolutely necessary I will update my CPU but I am on a budget so I don't want to spend too much. Thanks for the help.

No the CPU will not bottleneck any GPU, so you can have the 7950.

I think you got a PCI-E x16 slot on MB, if so then no worries.

But you need a good PSU to run the GPU, just keep that in mind.

Better a r9 270x from Gigabyte or HIS.

Would a 550w power supply be enough for the 7950?

yes that psu is fine and the 7950 or 7970 would be more than sufficient for most current games at mid-high settings with 45+ fps (in general gameplay intense scenes my drop to as far as 25-30fps for a short time)

So the i3 won't bottle neck the 7950

The HD 7970 would be bottlenecked a lot I guess, the HD 7950 a bit, the r9 270x would be ideal. The CPU is good but not a quad core CPU.

no it will not in most cases. very rarely you may get short spikes of small fps drops but not too likely. i have that cpu in my laptop and play World of warcraft and hit 25fps in a 25man raid at high settings with just the onboard graphics (hd2500 in my case) so i think you will be fine

It's just not with the wattage to determine a good PSU, many factors come to play when judging a decent PSU.
Anyways just tell us the make/model of the PSU you have currently please .
