Hi,

I plan on purchasing components for my new build soon and was wondering if there could be any issues using a Non-K CPU with a Z87 motherboard? I am interested in these two Z87 boards; ASUS Z87 Pro and the ASUS Z87 Plus, as they both offer (supposedly) better NICs and on-board sound over the "cheaper" boards. The CPU I plan to get is the Intel i7-4771. I prefer a Non-K chip, as I have no interest in over-clocking at this time.

Also, does anyone here own either of these motherboards? If so, how do you like them?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate your time!

No issue at all. Actually preferable if you plan on using dual GPU's.

and you can "kind of" oc that processor anyway, you might as well since you did get a Z board. Just set multiplier to 43 in the bios, it will run at 4.1 ghz when it needs to (with all cores running) and 4.3 ghz with only 2 running. Won't harm anything and can do this even with stock cooler if you get it attached well.
