I have an acer aspire m3800 desktop, and was looking to add an additional 4Gb of memory with 2x 2Gb sticks for a total of 8Gb. The correct ram was purchased yet when i install it and turn the desktop on again the mobo starts a continuous beep and wont actually start.

How did you know exatly what memory to buy? I didn't do a massive search but there are different kits in different ones. I can't find a sure fire speed or timining for that comptuer b/c there are multiple models for the m3800
