Would 860W PSU be enough for this config?

Hi,

Thanks for reading this.

I'd be very respectful if you could please advise, from your experience or expertise, if the Corsair Professional Series AX860i 860W ATX/EPS Fully Modular 80 PLUS Platinum Power Supply Unit would be enough to support the following configuration please:

CPU: i7-4930k @ stock speed
MBoard: undecided between Rampage IV Black Edition or X79-Deluxe
RAM: G Skill Ripjaws Z 16GB DDR3 PC17000 2133MHz Kit for Intel X79 Quad Channel Platforms
SSD: Crucial M500 960GB 2.5 inch SATA Solid State Drive
Graphics: Asus AMD Radeon HD 7990 Graphics Card (6GB, GDDR5, PCI Express 3.0)
Cooler: Corsair Hydro H110 Liquid Cooling System
Optical reader: LG BH16NS40.AUAR10B 16x SATA Internal BD-RW Retail Kit

Regarding the motherboard, I'm not sure which to get. I am aware that the RIV-BE will be extremely expensive but the X79-Deluxe does look appealing. I want a motherboard that can comfortably handle Flight Simulator X.

My current system uses the Intel E8600 on the ASUS Striker II Formula and it does seem to handle FSX OK so I'm not sure. Its like 4 years since I made this PC so I'm not sure how well a motherboard today will be able handle it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially regarding the PSU if 860W would be sufficient.

Thank you again kindly.

I would go for 1000 watts if I were you. Preferably, this one -

Seasonic X series 1050w 80+ Gold certified PSU - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-x1050

This costs less than the Corsair unit, is slightly higher quality and delivers more watts. Though it is a Gold certified unit, there is little difference between a Gold unit or a Platinum unit. Gold still delivers very high efficiency and lowers energy bills but with that setup, I would seriously take the unit I recommend.

To answer your second question, I would go for the X79 deluxe. It is still a great motherboard and still overclocks like crazy, but it's cheaper.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone for your kind comments which I greatly respect.
I've decided to stick with the 860w corsair unit on the basis I'm getting everything from Amazon anyway (always excellent customer service if anything happens). And I've also decided the X79-D is the best MB for above config.
Thanks everyone again :)
