So I've recently bought a computer that I thought was nice but there are a few things that could be better. The motherboard is currently a 970a-g46 msi which from reading about in here isn't that great. The prossesor is decent and the graphics card isn't horrible. Will need more Ram at some point. I'd like help figuring out how to upgrade what I got some to be a decent gaming computer and be fairly future proof as well as being able to take some overclocking. I'll admit I know more than the average person, but there's a lot I'm pretty dim about as well. This is my first gaming computer/ build. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

So far I've spent $760 I'm hoping to keep it under $1000 overall and hopefully recouping some of it by selling off whatever I replace. I live in New Mexico.

Yes and no... I already have a AMD FX 6300 prossesor, a 2gb asus hd 7770 graphics card. A 700w power supply, a 1tb hd, and 4gigs of ram on a msi 970a-g46 motherboard. I'm looking to get a better motherboard and more Ram to work with what I have.

Alright well even without overclocking I've read the board sucks. I've heard plenty of people having issues with it even with light use. I'd like to just avoid any trouble all together and get something that can actually stand up to life for more than a couple weeks.. So far I've seen lots of people complaining about failures with it in that time. I've been looking at the asrock 970 extreme3 or the 990. Kinda just looking for advice to build a computer that will game well and hold up to life for awhile.

From what i mostly read on am3+ 970 mobo's alot of good things were said about the m5a97 r2.0 & the m5a97 evo r.2 for the price. Or the 990 chipset of asus too (evo/pro) But i also read the m5a97 can be picky with ram, so best to check up i reckon
