Hi everyone, I have a quick question for you all. In a month or two I am planning to buy a new graphics card. I have a budget of $700 NZD which is about $600 USD. I am currently tossing up from anything like a GTX770 and R9 270x to a R9 @90 or GTX780. I'll be using it for gaming, but mainly 3d modeling, animation, rendering, and using most of the Adobe Suite. I'll be running it on two 1080p displays. I am open to any ideas including SLI or crossfire options, or waiting for the GTX800 series.

Current System:

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
Intel DZ77BH-55K
Intel Core i7 3770
16GB Dual Channel Corsair Vengeance LP 1600 (Planning to get two more sticks eventually)
nVidia GTX470 1279MB
Intel 300 80GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1Tb + WD 500GB
Blu Ray Drive 8x
DVD Drive 24x
Corsair C750W Power Supply

Thanks in advance!

The reason behind the 780 over the 770 is that you will have the card for hopefully 4+ years and the extra cuda cores will help with rendering in that time. As for gaming, again its a significant different. Over all though, if you decide to upgrade your PSU then the dual 7970's is your best bet, it doesn't have cuda core support but the sheer difference in performance negates it.

Would I notice a significant enough performance increase from the 780 instead of 770?

for sure. 770 is GK104 and 780 is GK110 you would see even biiger jump from the 770 with the 780ti.
P.S. I run two 7970's and wont or need to upgrade for a long time :)
