Is there any 3DS emulator available now?
If there is where can i get one without doing any surveys.
I have downloaded pokemon X from torrent.
It has '.3ds' file. Is it the file extension for a 3ds game(i thought it was file extension for Autodesk 3ds max software.

Please help me, i really want to play the game, but i cant get a Nitendo 3ds now.

Do you know about when one will be available, something like that?

Due to the complexity of its bios and the custom hardware, I don't see that until at least mid 2014 although with the emulator you will not get the social aspects such as street pass and online battles.

That website looks like a place holder for if an when there is an emulator. When you buy the 3DS and Pokemon you support the developers. I love my 3DS and you will too. Get the 3DS XL, lots of great Black Friday deals out there right now.

First off if you want to play the game buy it and its console, second off does this not constitute a software piracy discussion which I imagine is illegal on this site??

Emulators are legal [clean room reverse engineering]
Making backups of the BIOS for a system you own is legal [the BLEEM Case]
Making backups of the games you own is legal [several fair use laws]

Its the downloading of BIOS/Software that is blatantly illegal, and should not be tolerated.

And no, there is no working 3ds emulator at present. Its doable though; the GBA had a decent emulator out before the US launch (!), and the DS emulator scene got moving quickly. Handhelds are easier to do simply due to the lesser requirements involved [single core CPU's, weaker GPU, simpler BIOS, etc]. I'd imagine we'd get a 2DS emulator first though, with the 3d support added afterward, due to simplicity.

I am sure the people who did DSEmu are working on one, but I have not investigated. The DS emulator is cumbersome, switching from gamepad to mouse constantly, maybe mapping the controls to a DS4 with it's touchpad would be better, but IMO not worth the hassle for mediocre at best "portable" gaming. Rather just buy a 3DS.
