If i have windows 7 installed in a hard disk and if connect this hard disk to new assembled pc will the windows 7?

I'm going to buy a new pc,will the windows 7 installed in a hard disk will work if connect this to a new assembled pc along with a new hdd.my old hdd has sata port so it will be connect to the new pc

I don't think it will work because the drivers are installed when you install windows for that computer... if you change computers with the same hard drive it wont work right and if it does you will have to reactive windows 7 and sometimes Microsoft wont let you do it.

It depends on what you mean. IF you are simply going to add this older HD that has W7 on it to a new working computer with W7 or W8, then yes it will work, but you will not be able to use or access any of the old W7 OS. You could leave the OS on and still read any picture, movie, music or data files from programs on the new OS. You will not be able to functionally use the old OS W7 or programs installed onto it simply because it has no drivers to communicate with the new MB and everything else for that matter! If you have the old programs that were installed onto the old OS they could be re-installed onto the new OS. Eventually you would want to remove the old OS or copy all the data onto the new computers drive or another new drive and then remove it. At that point you might as well reformat it and then it could be used as another data drive. Many options!
