Is there something wrong with my ram?

I have Kingston Hyper X Genesis 1600 ram. I am sure it is supposed to run at only 1.5v.

I am using a AMD fx8350 on an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 MB

I was checking out my ram with cpu-z and one of the slots said it was running at 1.65v. Is this normal or could it cause problems?

Here are screen shots of each stick of 4gb ram.

Solution
Many of the Kingston Hyper X sets are rated 1.65 at 1600/9 which is a good reason to avoid them - question to ask is why it needs 1.65 for 1600/9 which is considered entry level...about 85% of ALL 1600 sticks on 1.5 (JEDEC Standard) even the faster 1600/8 and some 1600& sticks and as far as OCing DRAM you normally need to add voltage to the sticks which makes these poor choices for OCing. Intel recommends a max of 1.55 on stock 1600 sticks (I won't touch sticks under 2133 unless they are 1.5 or even lower

it's absolutely normal..

my corsair vegeance memory run at 1.75 v (overclocked) for 2 years, and still running flawlessly..

Your memory covered by lifetime warranty.
if there's something wrong with your memory, so just claim it..so there's nothing that you have to worry.

Nope, it's supposed to be running at 1.65V.

Whereas the documentation from Kingston states 1.5V
http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3_4G.pdf

But, in either case what seems to be common is that the Normal speed of the RAM seems to be 667Mhz.... @ 1.5V
The XMP profile seems to be at 800MHz @1.65V....

You could say, that is not usual for RAM to be named like that ..... if it's 1600.... it actually should have been 800MHz @1.5V as specified in the documentation , but, the retailer seems to have caught on and given the right power rating for the RAM.

Oh man, really? I wanted 1.5v ram because I was told it was much better than 1.65, especially if you want to overclock your pc. It stated on the package that is the ram was 1.5v. I am pissed of at Kingston's false advertising.

Yup, another difference is the timing that will change with a drop in voltage, Newer high speed RAM modules seem to be running at lower voltages but with increased latency.
Wonder why?, it's the same difference, the heat that these modules are giving out is astounding at 1.65V.... not even overclocked, 1.5V seem cooler as compared to the 1.65V ones and happen to have higher latencies.... so you're paying for lower speeds to save on heat by compromising timings.... funny.... it seems to be a big gimmick....
Agreed, that the newer modules seems to have higher OC potential.... but again, heating up and upping the voltage seems to be the only way to reduce the latency....

Could this be a reason why my computer turns off while playing COD Ghosts? It is frustrating playing a game just to have the pc reset itself in the match then reboot back to windows. COD Ghosts appears to be a ram hungry game according to the system requirements. It is the ONLY GAME in my library that does it!!!

Lack of memory voltage will give you BSOD with bcCode 0x1A or 0×50
or suddenly back to the desktop while you gaming.

Too high voltage simply burn it..

Turn off while gaming, well, 2 possibilities..
1. Bad PSU.
2. Processor Overheating.
So, shutdown problems is not a memory error.

=================================

If you not comfortable with 1.65v, you simply undervolt it in bios..
or..
You can try to tighten your timing..
for exp: 8-9-8-24, or even tighter, 8 - 8 - 8 - 21

Like i said before, I've run my corsair vegeance 1700@1.75v at 7-7-7-15 for over 2 years without any problems..
With 1.65 v..my vegeance can only reach 1600 with timings at 8-8-8-21

I thought about that that, but the question is why does the computer only turn off while playing Call Of Duty Ghosts. My system can run all my other games just fine, even BF4 on ultra. Ghosts is a poorly optimized port, and requires a ridiculous min 6gb of ram to run it.

okay.

Do you overclock your processor..?

and try to clean memory golden bridge with contact cleaner, or pencil eraser..
Copper oxidation is common memory problem..
