I have recently upgraded my Windows 8 pc to 8.1 as well as the pc being slower at everything like the other uses I am also having problems with internet connection. If I start up my PC it does not connect to the internet however if I restart my pc it will. This happens every time start up my pc, to get an internet connection I always have to reboot after the original start up. Connections are possible from any other device in the household which I guess means the internet line is not the issue. Any ideas?

Go to your hardware manufacturer's web site and download the 8.1 drivers from there directly. You'll likely find an 8.1 release date driver and potentially a beta one as well. 8.1 did not find all of the latest drivers for my hardware when I did the upgrade. Its likely a chipset or network card driver thats causing your issues. Ought to speed everything up a bit as well.
