connecting desktop cpu to laptop (cpu)

Hi,
How can I connect a desktop CPU to a laptop screen (including laptop CPU)?
as i suffer monitor problems sometimes.( I know that you might say me to repair monitor but i need an alternative).My
Laptop -> OS -> Win7 Home Premium
Desktop -> OS -> Win7 Starter
I have VGA port both on my laptop and desktop.
So when i connect with Vga to Vga cable, it just has options to clone and extend displays in my laptop and my laptop screen simply brinks and doesn't display desktop CPU,
but extended or clone display works well with my desktop monitor as i connect it with VGA port in Laptop.
But i want to have extended or clone Cpu's which they will share same (inbuilt ) screen in laptop.
like choosing Screen 1 showing Laptop Cpu -> OS Win7 Home Premium
or Screen 2 showing Desktop Cpu -> Os Win7 Starter
or both ( multiple) displayed on my laptop screen (Equally).

Can you tell me what should i do????

No, that won't make a laptop VGA port accept an 'in' signal. That thing is merely to change a F end to a M.

Yes...the cable you have to attempt to connect the desktop VGA port to the laptop VGA port is a waste.
It will not work. Period.

Your options are what I listed above.

You are probably correct.
But i don't want any network connections here to solve my problem.(as network sucks sometimes).
We know that a single CPU can handle duel boots or more.

But if I have limited options than what will i do?

I have two CPU's ,one in my laptop and other in desktop .
I want to use the LAPTOP SCREEN instead by connecting the desktop CPU
via VGA TO VGA Port.
Or any other port taking "in" signal .

VGA To VGA wire gave me a fancy to connect the booth CPU's.

Why do manufacturer's manufacture VGA to VGA wire??

if you do have options manually to connect both CPU's,
Please tell me..

"Dual boot" means 2 operating systems installed on one machine. Choose which one to run at boot time.
Not 2 operating systems running at the same time.

The VGA port will not work.

There is this, though.

I've never used it and have no idea of how well it works. But there it is.

Hey Man thanks for your advice....

I did not know about Maxi Vista, though i know a similar program like
remote desktop connection (RDC) and Skype which do same work as Maxivista which utilizes any standard Wireless LAN, Firewire or Ethernet network connection to transmit the screen contents from your Primary PC to the Secondary PC.However these software's can only transmit same content and must be online and need not require switching operating systems at a time.

But i wanted a wired physical connection (may be through VGA to VGA cable or HDMI to HDMI Cable Wire etc) between my two machines ie. Desktop CPU and my Laptop Cpu (using Laptop Screen as its Monitor) that desktop CPU can be tricked to be a Secondary Monitor and turn my laptop into a primary monitor for another PC and both CPU's must have different operating systems so that it can be switched to either a Primary Pc and Secondary Pc instead of having to do a dual boot...

and the laptop should not be required to be disassembled for this purpose.

Your options are very limited.

TeamViewer - Connects through the LAN, and shows the desktop of the other PC in a window. I use this daily to control my HTPC for music, movies, and Netflix.
Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) - I also use this, but I don't think it will work with Win 7 Starter.
MaxiVista (as linked above) - Apparently it works, but I've never tried it, or had need to.
Shared Folders - Again, through the LAN. Access data on the other machine as needed.

In the video port concept you're talking about, that does not really exist. Except in very rare cases, video ports (VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort) are outies, not innies. They do not accept an incoming signal.
It is a video port, not a data port.

You can't connect the video out of the desktop to the video out on the laptop and hope that it works.

Except as listed above, it just won't.

That means a monitor need to have a two VGA (Male) ports?? That might solve the problem of switching two machines having two different operating systems with or without dual boots...
then i can connect the two VGA (female) to VGA (male) cable wire with the monitor and the two machines with different operating systems with or without dual boots....

What do you think???

However it is sad for me that i cannot use my VGA TO VGA
(Male) cable wire...

A monitor with multiple inputs (as most do) will work. Switch between the two. But still, it is two discreet machines - the laptop and the desktop.

VGA cables come in all possible configurations:
M-M
M-F
F-F
And then there are gender switchers if you have the wrong cable.

What are gender switchers?? Isn't there a specific term or name for that..I can't find any relevant information for gender switchers in the web.

Can the above device be used to connect desktop and laptop machines through VGA to VGA (Male) wire cable?
Will this above device make VGA Port accept "in" signal from desktop
to laptop after adjusting it on laptop VGA Port??

I am very keen on using my Vga to Vga (Male) Cable wires...
otherwise this wire is total waste of money and time...

What's the big deal in changing the VGA Port F end to M or Vice Versa ??
thy man,will have to insert female wire or male wire at its end...
