what is the proper way to insert an SD card to where my phone will read it

My I took and unmounted SD card from my phone then removed it so I could reset my phone because it was acting up really bad, so after the reset I go and put the SD card back in and now it shows how much space it has used and free but will not show me what is on it and it is not back on my phone. So my question is how do I get the SDC contence back on my phone or to where I can again have and use those apps and things on my phone????? Thanks

Since you provide no information at all and phones are not all the same in terms on interface; I suggest you take it into your carrier store and ask for help. In the mean time, most phones have a set up section and in there is a setting for storage of some kind. You might find a selection for external or SD card. It probably just needs to be turned on.
