i got my rat 3 last Christmas, and worked fine for several months. after that, i started to see some issues. it would disconnect, then reconnect very quickly. so it reset the mouse down to the lowest dpi setting, and the macros would be unset. at first this only happened a few times every month, but slowly it started happening more and more. now it sometimes will do it every 5 mins or so. i have never seen it do it when it isnt moving. it also has another problem; occasionally it will stop responding all together, and freeze in the screen. i have looked all over the internet, but it seems this i am the only one with this problem. does any one have any idea how to fix either of these problems?

the most probable cause would be a broken wire in the cable so that it is breaking and making contact as the mouse is moved.
It would be possible to replace the cable by using a standard usb cable,cutting off one of the plugs and soldering the wires in place of the originals.

If you can identify where the break is then you could try to stiffen the cable at that point perhaps with insulating tape.
However in my experience the cable tends to go very near to where it enters the mouse and in this case it will need a new cable .
