I3 3220 vs FX 6300

I can only really get one of these two, so i'm wondering, which will leave me with the better upgrade path? Intel at the moment seems like the better choice, but it seems like games will be utilizing more cores since both the One and PS4 have 8-core cpus. Steamroller FX-series would be a plus but the won't be coming out until late 2014-early 2015. So which should i go with? Right now im thinking the FX 6300.

While the i3 is no slouch, there is a push with modern games to use more and more cores where the dual core i3 will not keep up.

The FX6300 or the FX8350 are the best bang for the buck of the FX range, just don't scrimp on a decent motherboard for them ;)

Hence why you get the 8320 which is essentially the same chip as the 8350 but clocked lower at stock. :) And costs quite a lot less.

It seems at the moment that there won't be one. But we'll see, it might be a surprise like the original FX series was.

Theres just not one planned for 2014, they will be focusing on kaveri.
