I'm looking to buy a 14" Razer Blade in the near future and I'd like to add a second mSATA SSD for extra storage, but I'm concerned about battery life. I've been told it'll lower the battery life from six hours to five, and I've been told it won't change the battery life by more than five minutes. How will adding a second SSD affect the battery life?

Hey,

Overall it shouldn't impact your battery life too much as SSDs are very efficient, usually less than 2 watts under load. That is a very small amount of power usage when compared with something like the CPU or GPU, so I would imagine the battery life wouldn't be affected too much. In addition to that you won't be using the SSD under heavy load all the time, and SSDs can idle while using less than 0.5watts. So overall I wouldn't worry about it.

Hope this helps!
