I have a PowerColor 7950 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131458

I need some help with overclocking as i have never done it before. I tried in the ccc and i raised the core to 1000MHz, Memory to 1350 Mhz, and the power to +20. It was unstable in games and would crash. I don't want to mess anything up so please help. I have also looked around in MSI afterburner so i am familiar with that software also.

Thanks in advance

Solution
Its always a risk, ALWAYS, I have had cards die on me after a 50MHz increase in clock.

ONLY overclock if you need it unless you have amazing amounts of money to waste..

120 MHz higher is not 1/3 higher. And just for performance. The few fps you gain i guess

no i haven't had low FPS in any games. I like to play games like BF3/FarCry 3 as well as saints row and crysis. As of now i am using a 1600x900 monitor (22'' i think). I have one that is 1080P (24'' i think) but i am using this one right now because that one was emitting a whining/buzzing noise. ew.

Okay well thanks for you help. One more thing, have you ever heard of a monitor making a hissing/whining sound by chance?
