I want to reinstall my Windows 8 because there are a few problems with games and stuff I can't fix, but I just wonder if I need a code to do that? I'm not a computer genius, it's weird I know how to install games, and my friend installed this laptop for me (Windows 8 was on it already, so I guess everything's legal) but I don't talk to him nowadays. I don't know what he did or had to do when he installed this. Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is a stupid question. I couldn't find anything about it on the internet, only Windows 7 things.

There are a number of possibilities if your system is still running the 8 version -- look HERE. I use the free Belarc Advisor.
You will need to use media, or a restore partition depending on what brand and model laptop.
Your best bet would probably be to update it to 8.1 once you find your activation key -- and write it down you will need it again in the future.
edit: and there are some games that will not run on 8 or at least need to be patched or run in compatibility mode.
