My computer has stopped recognizing videos and new pictures from my sd card when I try to transfer via a USB. A few weeks ago it was recognizing only new pictures and videos. Now it is trying to transfer all pictures and isn't recognizing videos at all. I have the same problem when I try to use the card reader on my computer too. I have windows 7.

I see all of the picture files but not the video files. I can see them on my camera, not on the computer. This was not the case a few weeks ago when I last transferred files. As far as I know, there have been no updates or anything changed on my computer.

Did you get a new camera?
My newer cameras no longer store video's in the same folder as pictures. In fact they are not in the DCIM folder at all on both my newest ones. I forget where they were or I would say. start looking thru all the folders.

No changes. Same camera, same SD card, same computer, same USB cord. It worked fine a few weeks ago. Now wants to upload all pictures from SD card, not just new ones, and doesn't seem to find the videos on the SD card. I can't figure out what happened

sounds like you have some autoplay setting that controls it. do you normally use a specific automatic program to upload / copy the files over, or do you use plain ol' windows explorer for it?

maybe post up a screenshot of what comes up when you insert your SD card?

I use autoplay, but when it loads up the number of pictures and ask if I want to tag them, it is showing all the pictures on the card, not just the most recent. It doesn't include any videos at all, just the photos on the card. So if I have 30 new pictures and 2 videos that I have just taken, it wants to upload all 1500 pictures on the card and none of the videos. If I go to explorer to upload them, I still can't see any videos. It's like the videos aren't there at all, unless I view them through my camera. I don't understand why is suddenly isn't recognizing what are new pictures and what are old pictures that are already on my computer. I think it is a windows issue but I don't think I've had any updates since the last time I uploaded pictures.

Had the same problem using my Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ7...no problem downloading still pictures...major problem downloading videos using Nikon NX2 software Found this free software which downloads both still and video pictures from your memory card to your hard drive called Play Memories Home a Sony company. It recognizes both and you can set up a destination folder on your Pictures section on your hard drive. Very easy to set up and use. Good luck
