Hello, new user here.

Upgraded computer couple months ago, new motherboard + cpu + Gfx and Ram, I was/am using my not that old SSDs in raid 0 with an HDD as storage, didn't reinstalling anything except windows(7).

The problem I'm experiencing is that when I boot up I see a little "_" flashing in the corner then the bios splash comes up then I get a message saying no boot device found etc.. I simply press the reset button and now the raid menu show up telling me what drives are connected and set up and what options I have etc.. then the bios then it boots normally. If I restart in windows no problems and pc restarts normally (in the above boot order) but if I shut down and then come back in a little while same problem as mentioned. It's more of a nuisance than a problem but would be nice to get sorted.

Off the top of my head am thinking I need to reinstall raid controller software for new motherboard but can't bring my self to re formatting which is why I haven't tried anything yet but it is getting to that point of too annoying.

Any comments on this would be much appreciated.

No anything that deals with boot up is a setting in the BIOS not the raid software in windows.

Go into the BIOS and look for Boot Menu and see what devices are setup to boot. Make sure your Raid Controller or it may show a Vitural Drive (your Raid 0) and make sure that is at top (Unless you want like DVD first). That should fix your problem. usually the blinking Cursor you get is it trying to find a boot drive and if whats listed in the boot menu doesn't work it won't go anywhere else which is why you get the raid menu and what not and then it boots find because your telling it to boot from the raid controller. So try that! And what Motherboard do you have?

I have an Asrock Z87 Extreme 6 motherboard, I will have a look at the bios boot order.

Yea brand new board. I would check boot order. Now did you remake the Raid 0 with the onboard raid or is it an addin card?

Boot order is fine, I did not remake the Raid 0 in anyway shape or form since it was booting (eventually) I haven't tried that, I suppose it's my only action to take anyway

So you just plugged in the two SSD's and it picked up the old raid automaticlly if what your saying? Still that shouldn't cause this. Do you have any USB devices like a Thumb drive or a card reader or something installed?? This can also happen too. I know an old PC of mine if i had any kind of USB storage devices regardless of what my boot order was it would still try to boot from USB.
