I already have an Intel Core i5 650 2 cores, four threads @ 3.20 ghz and upto 3.33 ghz with turbo boost and i wanted to buy a AMD Radeon R9 280X. will this cpu bottleneck my New Gpu.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cpu: Intel Core i5 650 @ 3.20 ghz and upto 3.33 ghz with turbo boost

Ram: 4GB 1333MHZ (upgrade ram later)

Psu: 320 watts for my cpu and an (((((external FSP Booster X5 450watts independent/supplementary power supply)))))) for the "AMD Radeon R9 280X" Only.

will this be enough power?

I dont have enough money to buy a new processor.

Also i wanted to know if it will bottleneck, by how many fps will i lose when i play a game like Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4 on ULTRA with FXAA with 1920x1080 FULL HD.

More about : core 650 ghz bottleneck amd radeon 280x

In today's games a dual core will no doubt be a bit of a bottle neck on that card. How much? It's hard to say. It would depend on the game, the settings, the resolution, etc.

Hey! I have a 750 @ 3,3Ghz (which is almost the same you have) with 280x and no bottleneck so far, not even in Valley ultra HD preset (1850 points which is really good imho). With a good CPU like $240 i5-4670k you will have a much stable and little better performance. But if you only have the money for the card now you will be fine with your old CPU for a long while...

You have a true quad core. The OP has a dual core with hyper-threading. Most games don't make good use of HT, so your processor is quite a bit stronger in multi threaded games... which is basically all new games today.

Here you can see what bottleneck is. And how hard is to bottleneck a single card (gtx 680 in the video, "almost" the same as the 280x) Even with a 2core 4 threads CPU @ 1.8 ghz (at 9 mins) the bottleneck is only like 12% in average performance. As I said on 3,3 ghz he wont "see" bottleneck. Still he can get a little bit better and more stable performance with a high end i5 if thats what you meant!
Around 18 mins in the video there is BF4 ultra preset HD gameplay on like 60-80 fps with a 2 core 4 threads 3,3 ghz downclock...
